2019 Ford F-150 Review

Anyone in the market for a full-sized, light-duty pickup truck needs to check out the brand-new 2019 Ford F-150.

Ford has managed to maintain the rugged styling which had made the F-150 a timeless classic for generations, while at the same time finding ways to improve the truck's performance and creating a much more luxurious ride. Whether you are hauling lumber on the job site or taking your family on an out-of-town road trip, there is a 2019 F-150 just for you.

When it comes to pickups, it is all about the power, and the 2019 F-150 lineup doesn't disappoint. The 2019 F-150 offers owners their choice of six different engines:

      The 2.7L EcoBoost® gives you 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

      The 3.5L EcoBoost® provides 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.

      The 3.5L twin-turbo HO EcoBoost® boasts 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque.

      The 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 gives you 290 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque.

      The 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 offers 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel cranks out 250 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque.

Powerful engines combined with superb hauling capacity and the best towing ability in its class, means that the 2019 F-150 will always help you to get the job done.

Powerful and good-looking, too? Yep, the 2019 F-150 is one pretty pick-up. Other than a few minor upgrades to the body of the truck depending on the trim level, the engineers at Ford have had the good sense to leave the outside of the F-150 pretty much alone. While the outside appearance doesn't get much of an overhaul, on the inside it is a different story. Higher trim packages offer the luxury of extra comfortable leather seating, an uncluttered real wood console, and large 8-inch touchscreen to help you find critical information fast. For those who think leather has no place in a truck, Ford does have more functional interiors for hardworking owners.

Even the best performing truck is worthless if it can't keep you safe on the road. The 2019 F-150 earned a full five-star rating from the NHTSA and has a range of options designed to keep drivers and their passengers safer. The 360 Degree Camera with Split Screen helps you to get the complete view of your surroundings while the BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) gives you a heads up if a vehicle enters your blind spot. Optional Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and the Lane-Keeping System makes driving an F-150 even safer.

2019 F-150 Models

With seven different 2019 F-150 models to choose from, you can get the vehicle that is right for your needs.

Work hard with the F-150 XL and the F-150 XLT. These beasts love towing and hauling and are available with any cab style and bed configuration.

The four-door Lariat F-150 comes with either a turbo V6 or V8 engine in addition to more standard options like a keyless ignition system and aSync3 infotainment system.

Go west in the F-150 King Ranch model which features heated leather seating and tons of chrome trim. Options include additional safety features, an extended bed, and a moonroof.

Pamper yourself with the Platinum F-150 offering leather and wood interior, heated and cooled front seats, a remote starter, and LED headlights.

For those who want the best, the F-150 Limited comes with a top-of-the-line interior, a turbo V6 engine, and a surround-view camera system.

Why Choose the New 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor?

The new 2019 Ford Raptor offers some exciting features that are worth a look. Today's leaner, meaner 2019 Raptor is nearly 500 lbs. lighter than the previous generation with its high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body, but what really sets it apart is the tech underneath. Trail Control™ and our Terrain Management System™ make it easier than ever to do what we do best: take you off-road.

The 2019 Raptor has a high-output twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve, 3.5L EcoBoost®engine with port fuel and direct injection paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. That generates a massive 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque.

What's New for 2019?

"While the Raptor has remained mostly the same since Ford introduced this second-generation version, the F-150's radical twin receives an upgraded suspension for 2019. The new Fox Racing adaptive dampers are standard, and they automatically adjust in real time as driving conditions change. The Raptor also gains a low-speed cruise control called Trail Control, which makes climbing rocky terrain and other off-road obstacles easier for the driver. The rest of the updates include new paint colors, a new wheel design, and optional Recaro front seats for added support and style," says Car and Driver's Eric Stafford.

"Ford's pickup is pretty much a street-legal Trophy Truck. It's astonishing suspension allows composed cruising on the road as well as amazing control when you're barreling across the Mojave Desert or soaring over state-park sand dunes. On pavement, the brake pedal responds evenly to requests for deceleration."

Schedule a test drive for yourself and see just how awesome the new 2019 Ford Raptor is.
